We are pleased to be hosting "FinTech Thrives in a Post-COVID World" - a FinTech Fireside Chat on Tuesday, June 23 beginning at 6:30 PM. The event will feature a discussion with DK Sharma of PruVista Capital, moderated by Tariq Khan.

Topics covered in the event will naturally include impact of Covid on the industry, and the features and practices in a post covid world of financial deal making, operations and technology. Both the speaker and moderator have transitioned from lengthy careers in large corporates to the start-up world and this provides a great backdrop to a conversation of interest to Fintech entrepreneurs.

The TiE NY FinTech SIG brings together thought leaders in finance and technology to share their perspectives and vision on software & services that enable delivery and use of financial products. The goal is to leverage New York's FinTech community and leading innovation ecosystem to foster dialogue among entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, investors and anyone else interested in FinTech.

DK Sharma is a partner at PruVista Capital and is the CEO of In-House Capital, the entity of Pruvista that offers WorkPlaceCredit®, an employee loan offering with a mission of Democratizing access to affordable credit in a disruptive manner using Data and Technology coupled with sound business practices and policies. DK also serves on the board of several technology firms who serve the finance and insurance sectors. His portfolio is focused around companies developing cutting edge solutions in Data Integration, Delivery and leverage of Data via a variety of AI based models for business processes such as Cross Sell, Anti Money Laundering, Fraud and Credit Underwriting. He also has a keen interest in furthering the use of Conversational AI based models in supporting Customer Experience Transformation in various domains such as Banking, Insurance and Retail. DK has invested in several technology startups that are involved in these areas and is actively influencing the product roadmaps and strategic direction of these startups such as Percipient and Latize, both of which are Singapore based Big Data Analytics Startups. DK is also on the board of Kore.AI, a conversational AI leader, Maveric Systems, a leader in Testing and Validation Services and Ranosys, a boutique software services company based out of Singapore. Finally DK is also a co-founder of Datafornix, a Singapore based startup that is focused on deploying Rapid Digital Customer onboarding and Secure Document Storage solutions.

DK has an in-depth experience in developing and deploying modern technologies such as Cloud, APIs and microservices, Conversational and Robotics Process Automation AI Solutions and Big Data Technologies to solve business problems in Banking and Financial Services. He is passionate about bringing technology solutions to organizations in this industry at a cost which is a fraction of what is typically spent by large global players. DK experience with Core Banking Platforms coupled with modern technologies enables a practical view of how companies in BFSI space can evolve from their legacy systems to Digitally enabled platforms economically and efficiently.

In a 27-year career at Citi, DK most recently served as CIO for Citigroup’s International Consumer Businesses including Mexico and all of Asia and Europe. DK graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and also has a Masters in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.


Tariq Khan is an angel investor and a specialist in financing start-ups at the earliest stages of their launch. He co-founded Games 24x7 Inc which launched the largest on-line games company in India. His other investments include Buddi-Health, Vectorly and Baby Destination. He is Past President of the New York Chapter of TiE, and currently he is serving a two year term on the TiE Global Board of Trustees.

Previously he worked for twenty years in finance, with major banks and financial institutions in most of the support and operational functions including settlements, finance, risk management, compliance and technology. In addition, Mr Khan has twenty years experience working in industrial and commercial organizations, from large Fortune 500 companies, to small, family owned enterprises. Mr Khan grew up in Rome, Italy and after four decades in Europe moved to the US in 2000. He now spends his time between New York and Phoenix, Arizona.
