TiE NJ, in collaboration with major University partners, is organizing the 2nd TiE-NJ University Pitch Competition on June 15th, 2020. The pitch competition is an annual event that brings the best student startup teams with participation from Princeton, Rutgers, NJIT, NJCU, and other Universities in NJ. The winning team will represent New Jersey at the TiE Global University Pitchfest first week of Sept 2020.

Judges for the Competition
Judith Sheft is the Executive Director of the New Jersey Commission of Science, Innovation and Technology.
The Commission's mission is to accelerate economic development in New Jersey through science, innovation and technology including stimulating academic-industrial collaboration and encouraging and supporting entrepreneurs and inventors.
Previously she was involved with regional economic and cluster development having responsibilities at the New Jersey Innovation Institute @ NJIT for the HealthIT Connections entrepreneurial cluster development program, the NJIT I-Corps Site and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center. She has been engaged with technology /IP innovation and commercialization efforts working with faculty and students to create startup companies and establishing licensing relationships with corporate partners. She advised external startups at NJIT’s high technology / life sciences business accelerator/incubator. She is on the Board of Advisors to the NJIT Murray Women’s Center and serves as a mentor and coach to students and faculty. She is a member of the NJ – Israel Commission and serves on the Board of Greater Newark Enterprise Corporation, StartUp Newark, Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship Corporation, Einstein’s Alley, SheTek and NJEDA Technology Advisory Board, working to assist early stage tech and life sciences entrepreneurs foster regional economic growth. She was a co-chair of Governor Murphy’s transition advisory committee for Technology Government and Innovation (2017).

Experienced Diplomat with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in International Relations, International Economics, Policy Analysis, and Research. Strong research professional with a Ph.D. focused on International Studies from Corvinus University of Budapest.
Dennis Mehta, Co-CEO at Princeton Growth Accelerator
Dennis Mehta is a lifelong entrepreneur with a background in private equity. Specific sectors of interest include battery-based energy, IoT, and education. He is Co-CEO at Princeton Growth Accelerator, founded to help productize and scale technologies state-wide in
New Jersey. His newest venture is Ampericon Energy where they are developing Disruptive technology for next generation Power Storage Solution. This will make Sun energy transportable, mobile and available 24 X 7, 365 days a year At any coordinate point anywhere and any application.
More than 30 years ago, Dennis’s founded Professional Software Technologies. After leading the firm to a successful acquisition, he continued to build value as an executive, leading it to second and third exits at higher valuations by Esko and Danaher, respectively.
Dennis has specialized in driving growth in companies through unlocking new or untapped distribution channels, revitalizing sales teams, and creatively combining products to retain customers and solidify margins.
Dennis received B.Tech (Honors) from IIT, Kharagpur. He also completed double Masters in Engineering and MBA from Boston University.
He is the recipient of Marketing Excellence Award from DuPont Corporation and the Special Achievement and Presidential awards from Esko-Danaher. He is a founding Charter Member at TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) and supports various charities in the US and India
