Mauktik has earned his BE, E&TC, from the University of Pune; MS, Biophysics, UIUC and MS, Neuroscience, Johns Hopkins University.

He is the author of 'A Ghost of Che' , based on a solo, 8000km bike trip in South America  and also author of 'Packing Up Without Looking Back, based on an yearlong, 36-country, round the world trip'

Mauktik is a co-producer, executive producer & co-anchor of a travel film titled 'Riding on a Sunbeam' (108 mins) directed by Brahmanand Singh and edited by Irene Dhar Malik (both National Award winners), screened at Kolkata International Film Festival (among others). Mauktik raised ₹25L, managed planning/logistics, and is now handling marketing.

He is working on an ongoing feature film 'A Home Far Away' (adaptation of A Ghost of Che) and is expected to be complete by December 2018

Prior to film making Mauktik has played pivotal role in 2 successful start-ups (Cognision and PhiSix Fashion Labs) - Managing $1M+ annual budgets, cross-functional international projects. He has 10 yrs experience in fund-raising, team building, partnerships and delivering projects on time.
