About TYE:

TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) is a Global Program run by TiE Chapters aimed at fostering future generation of entrepreneurs by teaching high school students (grades 9 - 12 or equivalent) the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur. More than 23 TiE Chapters world-wide are already running the TYE program and now Bangalore will have its own program!

The program consists of 2 months of class room sessions (Saturday, half day) on Entrepreneurship & Leadership along with various aspects of setting up and running a successful business venture. The students then brainstorm a business idea and prepare for a Business Plan Competition under the guidance of an assigned mentor, who is a CEO/senior professional from the industry. Teams then compete at the regional level, and the winning teams get the opportunity to compete at the TYE Global Finals for cash prizes and recognition!

Highlights:

• Sparks creativity, builds confidence and increases problem solving skills among high school students
• Students work in teams to build a startup from an idea of their own using Lean Canvas, Design Thinking, Rapid Prototyping and more
• Classes and case studies conducted by successful entrepreneurs, industry experts and thought leaders
• Sessions held from 27 October at 9 am - 1 pm, over 8 Saturdays at Microsoft for Startups, Lavelle Road 
• The winning team from Bangalore gets to compete in a Global competition in Boston, USA
• $10,000 worth of awards for global winners
