TiE SoCal is launching the 2021 angel fund.

As you know, one of the fundamental pillars of TiE is to foster entrepreneurship by investing, developing, and mentoring founders with good potential. TiE SoCal is delivering on this goal by creating a fund that enables our group to make decisions quickly and invest in companies promptly. The fund also allows us to standardize how we analyze companies and select the best opportunities.

We first used this structure to create the 2020 fund. By all accounts, the 2020 fund has been a smashing success and has grabbed the venture communities’ attention. The fund was over 15% oversubscribed and brought in over 30 new Charter Members to our group. We have also had incredible interest from the startup community, resulting in successful pitch events every month over the past year. To date, the fund has committed to 10 investments, and we expect to be fully invested over the next two months.
