Harshu Ghate is a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary with over 30 years of professional experience. He has been a Partner with Kirtane & Pandit Chartered Accountants since 1985. Over the years he has been instrumental in initiating several new Practice areas for the firm.

He has handled professional mandates in Corporate Finance, Raising Private Equity for early stage and growth companies, Mergers and Acquisitions.

Harshu set up ESOP Direct in 2000, which has evolved into India’s only end-to-end service provider in the Equity Compensation domain. ESOP Direct has serviced more than 800 companies in Designing ESOP Plans and manages more than 500 Plans covering over 100,000 global employees on their ESOP Management platform.

He has been very actively involved in the Policy making initiatives in this domain. As a member of SEBI’s Committee, he has helped draft the ESOP Regulations and as a co-author of the ESOP Accounting guidelines for ICAI, he has drafted the Accounting standard for expensing of ESOPs.
