We invite you to TiE New York's monthly Startup Open Mic Night event for an exciting night of networking and pitching! This event is not your typical meet and greet.
Our October featured speaker, Rajeev Kapoor, will speak on “Startups and their impact on the status quoâ€. Rajeev is a Partner at Maja Equity Partners and a TiE New York board member.
To pitch you don’t have to be a TiE member, you just need to be a startup and/or investor with the passion to give your elevator pitch for 90 seconds in front of a group of angel investors, venture capitalists, startup-focused service based providers, mentors, and a large community of other successful entrepreneurs.
Each attendee must register in order to be included on the building's security list.
If you plan to speak, please register as a "Presenter". If your company is speaking but you are not the key speaker, register as a non-member or member (whichever applies).
Speakers should arrive by 6:30 pm and check in with our speaker coordinator. Should we need to limit the number of speakers due to high demand our members will be given priority to speak. But don't fear, its easy to join TiE! Become a member by signing up on our website at ny.tie.org.

About Rajeev Kapoor
Rajeev Kapoor is a General Partner and on the investment committee of the Katapult accelerator, one of the largest impact funds In Europe. In addition, he is a Board member and partner at Maja Equity Partners – an investment firm focused on buy side integration, disruptive digital devices, working capital improvement, patient engagement and the enterprise voice space. Rajeev was formerly a Partner at A.T.Kearney and Global Head of Digital - his team advised on enterprise IT infrastructure, data storage, networking, AI, industrial/enterprise IoT, disruptive digital devices, AR/VR, patient engagement, cloud analytics and data interoperability.
Maja Equity Partners fund is invested in 26 impact and exponential technology companies. Eleven of the companies have gone to series eight rounds, two companies have been bought by another player and one company is in active acquisition discussion. The company has made two successful exits.
Rajeev is also on the advisory board of several companies in the areas of AI, enterprise Voice, edge analytics and big data space. And he is a visiting professor at Harvard business school, Yale School of management, Rutgers school of business and Carlson school of management where he lectures on topics related to M&A value capture, Big Data and advanced analytics. Rajeev was on the digital innovation committee for the World Economic Forum, committee for data exchange and has testified in front of the US senate on IT data security and identity and access management.
Rajeev holds a joint degree, MBA combined with Law program from Yale University Law School and Yale School of Management, a Master’s in International Management from Thunderbird School of International Business and a BS in Computer Science from Bangalore University.
Rajeev is also a member of the Board of Directors of TiE New York.

What is TiENY's Tech Startup Open Mic night?
It is an opportunity to not only network with members of the TiE community that includes angel investors, venture capitalists, startup-focused service based providers, mentors, and a large community of other successful entrepreneurs, but it's also a real opportunity for you and your business to receive the right type of exposure to the right people, right now.
Who can get on the mic?
Every participant, entrepreneur and/or investor who attends will have 90 seconds at the microphone to introduce themselves, pitch their business, experience getting funding, making investments or raise pertinentdiscussion point(s).
Who is this event for?
You don't have to be a TiE member to attend, although we hope you'll join! This event is open to entrepreneurs, angel investors, vcs and all of you who are looking to build a network.
What should you prepare?
Your 90 second pitch. We provide you the floor to get the exposure you want, and practice answering questions from a friendly audience, so come prepared to really harness the opportunity.
How Often Will You Host These?
Monthly, typically on the first or second Tuesday of every month at a WeWork near you.
