This program aims to provide MEI students better understanding of how to take a business idea into implementation by hearing of the experiences (good and bad) of some successful entrepreneurs.

In the first roundtable meeting,  Rod Smith and Tushar Warrier will share their experiences in managing sales processes and conducting sales communication effectively. They will also discuss with students how to generate leads using marketing tools and social media. 


Rod Smith

Rod Smith is a consultant and executive coach to a variety of organisations and people, from start-ups to multinationals. This follows a highly successful career in Sales, Sales Management and General Management with a number of leading organisations.

Rod is a successful entrepreneur who has established 5 entrepreneurial ventures in UK, New Zealand and Australia. He has consulted to, coached and mentored an impressive list of clients with outstanding results.

His General Management roles included services companies such as CSC and EDS. He was also Southern Region Consulting Director for technology research company Gartner. He is also past President of TiE Melbourne from 2011-2015.

Rod has a Bachelor of Science Degree from London University. He has Advanced Management Accreditation from College of Management, NZ. He also has PRINCE2 and ITIL Certification from Office of Government Computing, UK, and Balanced Scorecard Certification from Norton & Kaplan, USA. He has coached sport at national level.

Tushar Warrier

Tushar has built a track record of working with brands across Australasia, implementing marketing and customer engagement strategies for clients focused on youth, tech and professional services.

Firm advocate for CX & UX, curious about AR, VR & AI and regular ponderer of the bridge between economics and marketing.
