About Our Guests

Mr. Sriram Balakrishnan is undersecretary for extradition in Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. He is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing extradition and mutual legal assistance requests and representing and leading prosecution evidence on behalf of the Government of India in extradition cases before the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India. Prior to this position he was stationed in Cairo, Egypt from 2015-2018 as second secretary in the political and press information wings, and from 2013-2015 as third secretary in the economic and commerce wing. He holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery and speaks English, Tamil, Hindi, and Arabic.

 Mr. Stephen Mani is special assistant to the High Commissioner and deputy head of political and consular affairs at the High Commission of India in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He promotes bilateral relations between India and Sri Lanka and tracks and reports on political developments in the country. From 2016-2018 he was undersecretary for two regional bodies: South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. From 2014-2016 he served as the second secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in Geneva, where he worked closely with the International Labour Organization and the International Organization for Migration. Stephen holds a degree in Electronics and Instrumentation and speaks English, French, Malayalam, and Hindi.
