TiE New Jersey will hold its next call in its series for the Special Interest Group of TECH CEOs on November 18th at 6 PM over Zoom.  The interactive call will be moderated by Anjan Lahiri, (Founder and CEO Navikenz Inc., ex CEO BirlaSoft & Co-Founder MindTree), Chairman  TECH CEO SIG, TIE NJ. 

During the call, we will have Samir Dhir, President of Virtusa as a special guest. Samir has been instrumental in making Virtusa the global IT Services powerhouse that it is today. Samir led the acquisition and integration of Polaris by Virtusa in 2015 and today heads all business units across industries stationed in Princeton, NJ.  In September 2020 Baring Asia Private Equity concluded a deal with Virtusa management to take this NASDAQ listed company private in a $2B deal.  The current management will continue as part of the deal.

Samir Dhir, President, Virtusa Corporation

Samir is responsible for developing and executing Virtusa’s growth strategy and overall P&L management for all industry groups including sales, delivery, and operations in the Americas. The industry group comprises Banking & Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, and Life Sciences, Telecom, Media, and High-Tech. In addition, Samir oversees Virtusa’s global alliances, sales enablement, and xLabs. He is also a board member of Virtusa Consulting Services.

He was earlier the president of the Banking and Financial Services business at Virtusa. He was instrumental in the acquisition and successful integration of Polaris Consulting & Services’ capabilities into Virtusa. Prior to this, as the chief delivery officer, Samir led the global delivery organization at Virtusa.
Samir is a key member of NASSCOM’s IT Services Council, initiated to sustain and grow global leadership in IT. He previously worked for Wipro where he managed delivery for technology, media, transportation, and services business. He also led the SAP Practice and ran the managed services business. Prior to Wipro, he held key leadership positions with Avaya and Lucent Technologies in the UK.

Samir holds a master of business administration degree from Warwick Business School, UK, and Bachelor of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Anjan Lahiri, (Founder and CEO Navikenz Inc., ex CEO BirlaSoft & Co-Founder MindTree), Chairman  TECH CEO SIG, TIE NJ. 

Anjan Lahiri was a co-founder of Mindtree and set up operations for the startup in the US in 1999. Then he established Mindtree in Europe from 2003 to 2008 and led Mindtree’s IT Services business globally from Bangalore from 2008 to 2013. He then became the CEO of Sasken, a Telecom Products company in 2013, and led the revitalization of that business, tripling the stock price in one year.

In 2015 he took over as the CEO and Managing Director of Birlasoft, a $150M company, that was struggling with growth and was dependent on one dominant customer for 65% of its revenue. By the time he left in 2019, Birlasoft was a $500M public company with a diversified and stable customer base in a successful turnaround, recognized by the industry. Anjan’s vast career also includes experience at Cambridge Technology Partners, a Boston-based consulting company, and Wipro. Prior to doing an MBA from the University of Florida, he earned a degree in Electronic Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra where he is recognized as a distinguished alum.
