Agenda: This exciting TiE New Jersey and AAiPS joint event will have a panel of several successful entrepreneurs in Life Sciences and Healthcare industry to share their career experience and exciting entrepreneurial journey.
The esteemed group of panelists will share their inspirational stories of success, challenges faced, what prompted them to leave established corporate job to pursue an entrepreneurial career, lessons learned along the journey, how capital was managed, and how they scaled the business.
Lillian W. Chiang, PhD, MBA - President and CEO, Forge Life Sciences
Lillian founded FORGE Life Sciences, an early stage biopharma dedicated to commercializing innovative and proprietary small molecule antiviral therapeutics. Prior to FORGE, Lillian was VP of Translational Medicine at Kadmon Corporation. She was responsible for strategy and translation from early discovery through proof of concept in man. Throughout her career, she has built from scratch state-of-the-art technologies, drug discovery & development teams, and businesses at Stanford, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Purdue Pharma, Aestus Therapeutics, and Kadmon.
Lillian holds a BS, MIT; PhD, Wisconsin; Post-Doc, Stanford; and MBA, Wharton.
Dr. Navneet Puri, Founder and CEO, Nevakar
Navneet is a pharmacist by education with almost 20 years of healthcare industry experience. Navneet sold the first company he founded, Innopharma Inc. to Pfizer for $ 300 mm+. He went on to found Nevakar in 2015 with a vision of creating a fully integrated specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on hospital injectables and ophthalmic products. He received Future 50 magazine's Smart CEO award in January 2015. He was also awarded the EY Entrepreneur of The Year award from the state of NJ in June 2015. He currently serves as a board member of Alzeca Biosciences, Inc.
Navneet earned a MS from the University of Mississippi and a PhD in Pharmaceutics from Rutgers University.
Ajay K. Singh, Founder and CEO, Slayback Pharma
Ajay is Founder and CEO of Slayback Pharma.
He has led Slayback from its early start-up days to its current position of strength with, according to public sources, a $60 mm investment by KKR. His career has spanned through various segments of the generic pharmaceutical industry - including the branded side, generics business, biologics as well as the API side. Before Slayback, he was the Vice President of Strategy, Portfolio and Business Development at Dr Reddyâ€™s for the North American Generics Division. Ajay has an MBA from IIM Bangalore and an LLB from Delhi University.
