We cordially invite you to take part in TiE New York's monthly Startup Open Mic Night event on Tuesday, October 12 starting at 6:00 PM, for an exciting night of virtual networking and pitching. Jack McGowan will be serving as our guest speaker for the event.

Jack McGowan is the director of the Buffalo Angels, an angel investor network and fund that invests in early-stage companies located in the Buffalo & Upstate New York region. The Buffalo Angels have invested approximately $6 million in 41 transactions over the past ten years.

Jack is also the manager of the Western New York Business Development Fund, a collaboration among four economic development organizations that made pre-seed investments in technology startups in Western New York.

He is an active coach and mentor for various business plan contests and startup events in upstate New York including the 43 North Business Competition, the University at Buffalo Panasci Technology Business Competition, the New York State Student Business Plan Competition, the Founder Institute and others.

Jack is a consultant at Insyte Consulting, a not-for-profit firm that provides mentoring to manufacturers and high-potential startups in the Western New York region.

Jack holds an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a BS in Business Management from Cornell University. Prior to working at Insyte, Jack was a commercial banker.

o pitch at this event, you don’t have to be a TiE member, you just need to be an entrepreneur or an aspiring entrepreneur with a passion to share your idea that may change our world. You will be given a safe entrepreneurial friendly virtual space to deliver an elevator pitch for 2 minutes in presence of a group of mentors, angel investors, venture capitalists, startup-focused service providers, and a very supportive community of successful entrepreneurs.
