On behalf of the TiE Carolinas executive team, I would like to invite you to attend "Law and Order: Entrepreneur Edition-From M&A to Cyber Security" on Tuesday, March 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at RTP Foundation, located at 12 Davis Drive, Durham, NC 27709. Dinner and drinks will be provided.
TiE Carolinas is happy to host an engaging panel on legal insights in the business world from some of the top legal leaders in the area.
Mike is an attorney in the Business Organizations group and has practiced with the firm since 2005 . Mike focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions for companies across a broad range of industries. He represents buyers and sellers in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. He also counsels clients on a variety of privacy and information security matters, including HIPAA compliance and data breach prevention and responses. Additionally, Mike advises clients on a broad range of corporate and securities matters, including corporate reorganizations and restructurings, commercial contracts, corporate governance, the formation and maintenance of business entities, and securities offerings. Prior to joining the firm, Mike practiced with Dechert LLP in its Philadelphia office.
Saad Gul focuses his practice on privacy and information security. He advises clients on a wide range of privacy, data security, and cyber liability issues, including risk management plans, regulatory compliance, cloud computing implications, and breach obligations. In advising his clients on these issues, he often draws on his technical background and prior career as an IT consultant.
Saad writes and speaks regularly on privacy, data security, and cyber liability issues. He is the author of over a dozen published law review articles, as well as a number of articles in trade journals. He has also served on the Cyber Security Task Force of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his privacy practice, Saad also represents clients in complex commercial litigation, regulatory disputes, and antitrust matters. He has handled high-profile litigation in state and federal appellate courts across the country, including in the United States Supreme Court.
Saad recently led a team in filing an amicus brief before the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of five European business organizations that represent the interests of several million commercial enterprises spanning the globe. The case, U.S. v. Microsoft, could change how businesses interact over the internet by impacting virtually every cross-border data transfer and setting critical precedent.
We appreciate your participation and support of the TiE Carolinas mission to connect entrepreneurs in the Triangle area.
