It’s that time of the year again - it’s time to launch TiEQuest 2021!

TiEQuest is a multi-stage business venture competition bringing startups from across Canada to compete for a large monetary prize, mentoring from industry professionals and networking opportunities with top angels investors, venture capitalists, and managers and other professionals.

Join us on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 4 pm for our launch event where we will be showcasing past finalists and winners to update us on their journey since their success at TiEQuest. Each of our presenters has an exciting story to tell.

Introducing our Host:
Jeff Dennis, Program Chair, TiEQuest

Jeff Dennis is Fasken Martineau’s Entrepreneur in Residence. He is a lawyer, serial entrepreneur, best-selling author and public speaker. Frequently working with start-ups, acquisition and financing for a variety of businesses, Jeff has assisted clients spanning a range of industries, including real estate, hospitality, film , insurance, cosmetics, franchising, high technology, alternative energy, investment management, medical software, online auctions, incentive marketing and employee motivation. He is also the Chair of TiE Quest 2021.

Introducing our Speakers:
Philip Cutler, CEO Paper, TiEQuest 2016 Winner

Philip Cutler is the Chief Executive Officer of PAPER. A former teacher, Cutler founded the company in 2014 to close the equity gap that exists in schools. Today, Paper provides academic support to over half a million students and is recognized by the education industry as one of the fastest growing and most transformative software solutions. Cutler is graduate of McGill University and is the youngest ever elected city councillor in the City of Westmount, Quebec.

Bonnie-Lyn de Bartok, CEO of The S Factor Co, TiEQuest 2019 Finalist
Bonnie Lyn has won several entrepreneurial and technology awards, led the creation of two firms, has worked across 57 countries, leading the creation of exceptional teams, and several proprietary products including the MSPI™ (2010) and the S Factor™ Solutions (2016). Her company has developed a proprietary taxonomy, algorithm and index that measures corporate social impact against, international standards, public sentiment and financial performance. She is a widely acknowledged expert and much sought after speaker on social impact and risk issues.

Rajan Manocha, Business Development Manager of Genecis Bioindustries Inc., TiEQuest 2019 Winner
Rajan holds a degree in business management specializing in accounting from Western University, a diploma in accounting from Fanshawe college, and has a strong background in Sciences. He has over 7 years of sales management experience, including as President of Sales at EcoHome; led cumulative deals of over $2M and managed a sales team of 15+ members. Rajan’s interest in business development originates from his strong financial background he obtained from his academic and professional experiences.

Mark Elias, CEO of Steadiwear, TiEQuest 2020 Finalist
Mark Elias has a dual background in Structural Dynamics and Entrepreneurship. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Steadiwear Inc, a University of Toronto Startup, which caters to the dexterity needs of Essential Tremor and Parkinson’s disease patients. Watching an elderly loved one struggle with a disability is never easy. Their aim is to improve independence and quality of life through the development of assistive device technology. Steadiwear has been the recipient of several accolades and awards.

Seray Cicek, Co-Founder and CEO of LSK Technologies Inc., TiEQuest 2020 Winner
Seray Cicek is a medical technology innovator and synthetic biology enthusiast. and the co-founder and CEO of LSK Technologies Inc., a start-up that aims to decentralize and increase access to traditionally lab-based tests, starting with COVID-19. She holds a MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences and BASc in Engineering Science (Biomedical) from the University of Toronto. During her degree, she developed a low-cost diagnostic device for the detection of Zika virus in patient samples, and deployed these devices in Ecuador, Colombia and Brazil.

Who is it for: Startup founders, angel investors, venture capitalists, tech ecosystem leaders and others with an interest in early stage startups.
