Global Action on Poverty (GAP) accelerates the impact produced by a diverse set of committed, passionate individuals ('Changemakers'), who are tirelessly working to bring people out of poverty through a myriad of ways.

GAP provides these Changemakers with a range of resources and capabilities through Partners to bring a step-up change in their initiative. Partners from different spheres such as Academia, Corporates, Foundations/charities, Impact Investors, Governments and others have joined hands with GAP to empower these Changemakers to make poverty history.

Who can be a GAP Changemaker?

If you are the head of an NGO or a social enterprise or even an individual executing a project, you can become a GAP Changemaker. Size does not matter, what matters is that you are committed, passionate and are already on the journey in making a difference to communities that are in poverty or less advantaged. You also need to have;

• Worked on projects in agriculture, education, livelihoods & enterprise, water, sanitation & energy, healthcare & financial inclusion
• A minimum of 1 year of engagement in your initiative and ready for further support
• The drive to make your initiative a success and be open to growing yourself and your team
• Openness to new perspectives, ideas and be ready to adopt new ways to increase your impact
• Deep commitment to poverty eradication and ready to work with others to make it happen

Who can be a GAP Change Leader?

Ideal for people with 15+ years of experience, who will co-own a project for one year and contribute 1 day per month and bring an Intensive Catalyst that can engage in the initiative with them.

As a corporate Change Leader this is an opportunity for you to contribute through your skills and acumen and knowledge to a social Changemaker’s initiative to take it to growth, impact and sustainability. Changemakers are heads of  NGO’s and Social Enterprises. This is a 12-month engagement where you will be monitoring the growth of the initiative on month on month basis, there will also be a site visit to meet the Changemaker’s community/team, know them better and contribute more deeply.

• As a Change Leader, you play a leading role in transforming an organization – and in turn, several hundred livelihoods and families
• As you engage with the Changemaker over a span of 12 months, the visibility towards tangible outcomes and the impact created is very high – giving a powerful sense of accomplishment
• The environment that Changemakers operate in is unpredictable, and often challenged by resource scarcity. As a Change Leader you will need to come up with innovative strategies and solutions which can be truly transformative
• Dealing with ambiguity will be the norm and a great capability to build
• Such experiences also inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset and encourage forward-thinking – leadership traits that can only be honed through real-world experiences
• And importantly, we have found that working with such diverse teams and circumstances have strengthened values of empathy, integrity and humility in our Intensive teams
