Michael Landguth started his tenure as President and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority in November 2011. As President and CEO, Landguth is responsible for RDU's overall staffing, budgeting, strategic planning and operations. He is a seasoned airport professional with more than 20 years in the industry.
Under his leadership, RDU has developed a strategic business plan to guide the organization's activities and support its growth, completed a major terminal renovation (including LEED certification), launched the airport's first asset management program, and has begun implementation of Vision2040, the airport's 25-year master planning program.
Since 2012, RDU has recruited new airlines including Allegiant, Alaska, Frontier, and Virgin America. The growing airport offers nonstop destinations, including cities such as San Francisco, Austin, Seattle, New Orleans, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles. Under Landguth's leadership, Delta Air Lines launched daily nonstop service to Paris in May 2016, complementing existing transatlantic service from RDU to London.
For three years in a row, RDU has been recognized as one of the healthiest employers in the region by the Triangle Business Journal. On the financial front, Fitch Ratings also reaffirmed the airport's AA- rating and Moody's reaffirmed its Aa3 rating.
Prior to joining RDU, Landguth served as President and CEO of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority. There, he secured more than $70 million in grant funding, added three new airlines and eight new nonstop destinations.
Landguth is an Accredited Airport Executive and serves on the board of directors for the Airports Council International North America. In 2016, he was selected as the Airport Revenue News Medium HUB Airport Director of the Year. He is also a member of the board of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and the Durham Chamber of Commerce. Landguth is a North Carolina Airports Association 2016 President's Award recipient and previously served on the Governor's Aviation Development Task Force. In 2017, he was named CEO of the Year by the Triangle Business Journal
He holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aeronautical Sciences from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Mike is also the proud husband of Page, and father to Ashley and Jennifer. He attends the Church of the Nativity and volunteers with Triangle Family Services, helping the most vulnerable in our community.
Adam graduated from Appalachian State in 2007 with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, and has a Master's of Education from Liberty University. Commissioned in the United States Army in 2009, Adam was an active duty logistics officer with a combat deployment to Afghanistan as a convoy commander leading over 100 convoys. Co-Founder and Director of Logistics for Mako Medical Laboratories. He currently leads a team of around 100 veterans across 10 states and currently serving as a Company Commander in the United States Army Reserves.
As co-founder and former CEO of Recovery Logistics, LLC Amy Edge knows exactly what it takes for a business to not only anticipate and survive devastating storms—such as Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, and Irene—but also help organizations and individuals overcome and even prosper in the face of them. Amy now brings her unprecedented experience in leadership management and her passion for people to the organizations who need active threat solutions. She and her team guide management to prepare and train so they can better respond to active threats.
Carrie Peele is the CEO of Mako Documents. In 1990 she took a startup luxury transportation company from an idea to an internationally recognized power player. During that time, she was one of a few women elected by peers to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Limousine Association. As a leader, she drove business revenue, cut costs, maximized profitability, improved productivity and streamlined operations. Carrie sold Blue Diamond Worldwide Transportation in 2014. Shortly after she partnered with Mako Medical Labs and started Mako Document an offsite records management, shredding, & scanning company.
Carrie launched and is facilitating the largest female networking luncheon in the Triangle, Triangle Ladies Power Lunch. Another passion of Carrie’s is Athena Power Link, a business mentoring program designed to increase the growth and profitability of women-owned businesses. She brought the program to North Carolina and it has been very successful. The business mentoring, it provides and is changing lives and growing businesses.
