Bios : 

Faisal Hammoud was appointed as Director Business Development for Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource City in 2016 and was tasked to further the growth of both business communities. Dubai Internet City (DIC) is the MENA region’s largest ICT hub while Dubai Outsource City (DOC) is a modern, business hub dedicated to the growth of the global outsourcing industry. In his previous role as Senior Manager of Business Development, Faisal worked closely with existing business partners to ensure a collaborative community such as Huawei, Samsung, Microsoft and Google to name a few. He also played a leading role in attracting multinational firms to DIC and DOC, including Facebook, China Telecom Global, AXA insurance, WIPRO and many more. DIC and DOC are members of TECOM Group, a member of Dubai Holding, and have successfully developed prosperous ecosystems for technology and outsourcing companies from all elements of the value chain. DIC is home to some of the top Fortune 500 companies, including  Huawei, HP, EMC, Equinix and Oracle and is a catalyst for the growth of the ICT industry in the region. Faisal has worked with TECOM Group since 2007, where he has held several managerial positions including Manager of Commercial Operations for Dubai Internet City. Faisal holds an MBA in Marketing & Finance from Halifax University.

Smita Bagla is Managing Partner of Amritt, Inc - a Global Business advisory firm - specializing in advising American companies to do business in India and with India. Additionally she is the CEO of Alignstra - a niche provider of  strategy and technology advisory to Fortune 500 firms as well as startups. She is the current TiE SoCal Chapter President for 2019.  At Amritt, Inc., she serves as business advisory for innovation and operational excellence.  She is very active in mentoring digital health and Artificial intelligence initiatives. She serves as a board member for medical and technology startups. She is an IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and UCLA Anderson School of Management alum. 

Venkat Tadanki is active as an angel investor, Mentor, Board member and Advisor to various start ups both in the US and in India.  Venkat is also one of the earliest LPs with Accel Partners India which has invested in the likes of Curefit, Swiggy, Flipkart, Virident. Venkat Tadanki is founder and CEO of Secova, a Benefits. Administration firm that leverages its proprietary platform along with its global resources to help provide its clients quality solutions in a cost effective manner. Prior to Secova, Venkat was a founding member of Daksh, one of the largest independent ITeS companies in India that was acquired by IBM. At Daksh, Venkat was responsible for putting together the US operation and the company’s Sales and Marketing activities. Prior to Daksh, Venkat was the Executive Vice President of PepsiCo-South Asia, where he was responsible for managing Franchise Operations. Venkat is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, and a BA (Hons), Economics from St.Stephens in Delhi, India. He is long time Charter member of TiE Southern California

Julian Leuthold is the Founder and CEO of GetGlobal. He started its parent Geoskope in 2011 as a knowledge company focused on helping executives understand the Indian economy, business climate, and society but in the following year pivoted the company to focus entirely on GetGlobal and transform the firm into a media and event brand. His specialization has been in South Asian security, economics, and politics. He has consulted for financial and analytic firms. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, with a degree in International Relations and Business with course work at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi, India. Prior to his time at USC, he worked in the entertainment and online media industry as the Southern California director of a diversified event, media, and marketing firm assisting Fortune 100 companies.

Thomas C. Malayil is an experienced commercial real estate executive and senior adviser. He is the Managing Director of TCM Property Advisory LLC. Mr. Malayil is also a Senior Advisor to Elavare (Global Advisors) LLC - the firm's focus is US market entry for Asia Pacific organizations.  Mr. Malayil holds a bachelors degree in accountancy from the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU and MBA degrees from the National University of Singapore and the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is member of Asia Society (and serves on its Southern California Advisory Board), Los Angeles World Affairs Council and Pacific Council on International Policy and Washington State Bar Association.

Brian Frankel is a multinational marketing and business development consultant. Frankel advises American, Emirati and Indian businesses on expanding into international markets. His global client roster includes Coca Cola, MySpace, Creative Artists Agency, Spin Media, Bahrain Development Bank, management consulting firms, family offices, and celebrities. He was recently featured at American Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabi, Dubai Business Women’s Council, TiE Dubai and NYU Abu Dhabi, He has been published in Entrepreneur Middle East, Forbes Middle East, and C-Suite Quarterly.  In 2012 Frankel founded Mentor Matchmaker, a two-pronged approach to connecting professionals. Corporations hire Frankel to build mentor programs in-house for productivity and profitability.
