If Bitcoin were a country, it would be the 23rd largest energy consumer in the World!. Global spending on digital transformation could top US$2.4 trillion by 2024, more than double of 2019! However, Digitalisation has its own downsides of generating a carbon footprint! While digitalising traditional industries, the environmental impact of the Internet itself remains poorly addressed at a global level. Yet research shows it is huge.

There is an urgent need to focus on ‘greening’ the digital chain itself( both hardware and digital services), right from the design stage according to Singapore-based tech-investor Girija Pande, Chairman of Apex Avalon Consulting, "Sustainability war must be won byte by byte too!" Pande represents Asia on the High-Level Advisory Board of Brussels based Digital Goes Green Foundation which is supported by EU & World Economic Forum and is focussed on Researching and Advocating for greening of the digital chain across industries.

Join an interesting session with Girija Pande moderated by Maya Hari CEO Terrascope & brought to you by TiE SIG on Sustainability.
