Customer success is not a new concept. However, it is undoubtedly an evolving one. As customers continue to work from home and make purchasing decisions virtually, prioritizing customer experience has never been more important – especially for early-stage startups. Whether you’re focused on getting to market and landing your first customers or you just closed your seed round and you’re ready to scale, Sam Chandler, Director of Startup Success at Zendesk, will share with you why CS matters and the improved results founders can see when customer success is emphasized on Day 1. Using examples from fast-growing startups who invested early in customer success, she'll walk you through how they leveraged data for growth and for competing with established brands, best practices in engaging with customers in a virtual world, and she will share what a customer success strategy should look like – including when, and how, to roll out new CS features.

About Sam Chandler, Director of Startup Success

Sam Chandler’s job is to ensure that her customers look like rockstars. And it’s a job she takes quite seriously. After spending the last 17 years becoming acclimated with every Customer Service role from the front lines of cashiering to designing early stage CX programs, Sam knows what truly drives loyalty — and it definitely doesn’t involve the promise of differentiated customer service sans a strategy to back it up. It’s about aligning your service goals with your organization’s larger objectives and calibrating your measurements of success to reflect that mission. Sam’s background shapes her perspective on the concepts of the user experience, strategic data utilization, and understanding the psychological drivers behind consumer behavior. In addition to presenting on myriad CX topics at various conferences, she has also contributed to a variety of articles, podcasts, and digital content.
