As a follow-up to an event in summer 2018 on “Acquisition and Exit Strategy” with perspectives from entrepreneurs who successfully exited their businesses, the upcoming Feb 27th 2019 event will provide buy-side perspective directly from active market participants (whether seeking growth capital or a complete sale).

The Feb 27th event will have an esteemed list of panel of Corporate M&A Executives and Venture Capitalists, and moderated by a seasoned M&A Investment Banker.

Panelists and Moderator Details:

Michael Moretti, Managing Director – Silicon Valley Bank

Michael Moretti runs the Corporate Finance practice for Silicon Valley Bank’s tri-state region. Based in New York, he’s responsible for managing a team of technology bankers to deliver debt, investment management, FX, treasury, and payment solutions for mid-market to large clients.

Prior to joining SVB in October 2003, Michael worked at LCconnect Inc., a financial technology startup he co-founded in January 2000. Previously, Michael had been involved in the international, corporate and investment banking markets since 1982. Prior to starting LCconnect, Michael was co-head of Credit Lyonnais Securities' Corporate Advisory Group, which he started in 1995. Before joining Credit Lyonnais in 1991, Michael served nine years at the Irving Trust Company, which was subsequently acquired by the Bank of New York. There he worked in the corporate banking division from 1988 until 1991 and the international banking division from 1983 to 1988. Michael received a B.A. from St. Lawrence University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.


Jennifer Lee, Vice President, Edison Partners

Jennifer is a Vice President at Edison Partners focusing on the firm's FinTech investments, most recently including MoneyLion, Bento for Business and Giant Oak. Prior to joining Edison, she was a financial analyst at Commerzbank evaluating select European equities and long/short investments for hedge fund clients. Before Commerzbank she was an associate at the Associated Press overseeing VC investment prospects and strategic business development opportunities. Jennifer started her career at ForgeRock, a global leader in identity and access management with a unique history stemming from Sun Microsystems, as the first sales executive of the company. She closed deals across all geographies and industries while building the company from its first year through Series A-C growing revenue over 100%-400%+ YoY. Jennifer holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in Economics from Johns Hopkins University.

 

Cheryl Moss, Director, Friend Skoler & Co.

Cheryl is a Director at Friend Skoler & Co., a Private Equity firm that invests in lower middle market companies. Cheryl joined Friend Skoler in July 2006. At Friend Skoler, She is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and transaction execution. In addition, Cheryl works closely with portfolio company management teams on strategic projects and serves on the Board at Hex Performance. Previously, she was a Senior Analyst at Prudential Capital Group where she originated and managed a portfolio of private placement fixed income investments. Cheryl serves on the Board of the Association for Corporate Growth's New Jersey Chapter. She also co-chairs the chapter’s Advancing Leadership Influence committee, and is on the Women of Leadership committee.

Ms. Moss earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.

Moderator:

Manu Khanna, (Advisor-Simanor; Former MD, Deutsche Bank) Manu Khanna has more than 22 years of executive experience across Financial Services and Technology sectors. He is currently an Advisor at Simanor, a middle-market focused M&A Advisory firm. Manu has held senior positions at Deutsche Bank, including the Head of Corporate M&A Americas. As a Managing Director, he led global M&A transactions for the Bank, as well as strategic partnerships and investments in startups, across a wide variety of sectors and industries. Manu was instrumental in leading M&A transactions across US, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Asia, totaling $200bn+ in assets and $10bn+ in deal size. Previously at Deutsche Bank, Manu worked in a Private Equity fund focused on investing in the US infrastructure assets. Manu has a Bachelor’s of Engineering in Computer Science (summa cum laude) and an MBA in Finance, Banking and Global/International business from NYU Stern School of Business.
