Ishpreet Singh Gandhi, Founder and Managing Partner, Stride Ventures

Ishpreet is the founder and managing partner at Stride Ventures. His all-encompassing role at the fund involves sourcing proprietary investment opportunities, fundraising, managing the portfolio by working with and supporting portfolio companies, including attending board meetings and monitoring performance to ensure returns and strategic objectives of the fund are achieved. Ishpreet brings in 13 years with experience spanning the SME segment, Commercial Banking, MNCs, portfolio entities of Private/Venture Capital. During his last assignment as Regional Head (North & East), MNCs, IDFC Bank (including VC/PE business) he spearheaded start-up business by initiating lending business with Portfolio companies in Fintech, Consumer, Logistics & Agritech space and other portfolio companies of Mayfield Advisors, Sequoia Capital India, Bertelsmann India, Matrix Partners, Warburg Pincus, SAIF Partners, Sixth Sense, Sofina Fund etc.

He started his career with Standard Chartered Bank in SME banking catering to companies & investments of individuals wherein he spent 4 years across liabilities & assets, last role being the Area Manager managing a team of 10 Relationship Managers. During this stint, he gained significant experience in dealing with loans of smaller enterprises & Managing Wealth of HNIs through acquisition & relationship management. He received his AMFI certification & has been regularly being amongst the best contributors for the business segment.

His next stint with Citibank was in commercial banking department catering to industries in Healthcare, Consumer, Auto & Logistics with Relationship Management of companies ideally being Mid-Size Portfolio companies of below INR 250 crore turnover, giving him significant experience to deal with current size of portfolio companies the Fund will be targeting.

Ishpreet joined Kotak Mahindra Bank’s MNC group to serve the Global Corporates & was part of transition & merger of ING with Kotak Mahindra Bank. He managed relationship of Fortune 500 companies including Private Equity Groups Investments in India, of Tiger Global, Helion Ventures & Nexus Ventures.

He has completed his Post Graduation from Delhi University (Delhi School of Economics) and Bachelors in Commerce from Delhi University.
