Report Issues
To get real value from AI and machine learning, leaders must recognize the points in the business where machine-based or machine-assisted decisions can make a real difference in efficiency, cost savings, speed of response, or delivering a new line of revenue. However, most organizations do not have the foundation in place to get that data. According to McKinsey’s latest report, Adoption of AI Advances, But Foundational Barriers Remain, “only 18 percent say their companies have a clear strategy in place for sourcing the data that enables AI work.”
MapR has reimagined the foundational layers and introduced a new layer in the stack called dataware. Dataware explicitly decouples data from the modern constructs of applications, middleware, and hardware. Please join Jack Norris, Senior Vice President, Data & Applications, and Data Scientist, Justin Vincent, for an interactive presentation about how MapR’s dataware drives innovation for machine learning and artificial intelligence. Learn about the specific components of MapR’s unique capabilities to improve efficiency and dramatically cut IT costs, such as:
Jack Norris, Senior Vice President, Data & Applications, MapR
Jack drives understanding and adoption of new applications enabled by data and analytics. With over 20 years of enterprise software marketing experience, he has demonstrated success from defining new markets for small companies to increasing sales of new products for large public companies. Jack has also held senior executive roles with EMC, Rainfinity (now EMC), Brio Technology, SQRIBE, and Bain and Company. Jack earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a BA in Economics with honors and distinction from Stanford University.
Justin Vincent, Data Scientist, MapR
Justin is a Data Scientist at MapR where he works with internal engineers, sales representatives, and clients to design machine learning workflows and deliver custom machine learning applications and artificial intelligence solutions to clients. Before joining MapR, Justin was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Neurobiology Department at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Justin has co-authored one patent and twenty peer-reviewed publications in journals, which have collectively, garnered over 16,000 citations. As a result, Clarivate Analytics has identified him as “one of the world’s most influential minds,” since 2014. With fifteen years of experience working with software developers, engineers, and researchers in the medical imaging field, Justin has a celebrated background in project management, algorithm development, software engineering, statistics, and data science. Outside of his work in science, Justin is also highly skilled in fundraising, business development and entrepreneurial experience, having ran a very successful e-commerce company.
