Join us for a webinar titled," Key Ingredients for the Energy Refresh"

Guest Speaker : Scott Gale: Executive Director, Halliburton Labs
Moderator: Ram Shenoy
Whether driven by energy poverty or climate change, the global pursuit of improved quality of life through access to cleaner, affordable energy is existential to human life. The future energy supply will come from many different sources including hydrocarbons for decades to come. The energy system of the future will require many different technological advances across the entire energy stack. To achieve scale, early-stage companies require capital, technical and operational expertise, mentorship, access to lab space and the opportunity to demonstrate their technologies. Thriving startup communities exist when companies or people who could take advantage of startups, choose not to. Startup environments are built on networks of trust, giving before you get, openness, support, collaboration and are inclusive. Many factors will contribute to the energy system of the future.

Scott Gale works to help startups navigate the commercial and technical landscape of clean energy. As Executive Director, he is responsible for overseeing all activities and is hyper-focused on participant companies’ success. Scott is also a member of the Halliburton Labs Advisory Board. He is passionate about our mission to advance cleaner, affordable energy and firmly believes that cultivating a thriving startup community starts with trust and inclusion. Scott built his commercial and technical acumen through his time with Dow Chemical, later Solvay and now with Halliburton. He started with Halliburton in 2014 and since then has managed multiple strategic efforts throughout his career to take new technologies from ideation to commercial success at scale. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Rice Business School. He also holds business strategy and executive leadership certifications from Caltech and Texas A&M respectively.

Ram Shenoy is a co-founder of several companies based on different technology areas - AlphaX Decision Sciences (machine learning), Damorphe/WellDiver/WellNoz (materials science and sensing), Energy Harbors Corp (grid-scale energy storage).  He retired after a career in upstream oil & gas, holding a variety of roles around technology development, management and marketing.   He previously was Chief Technology Officer of ConocoPhillips, a large upstream oil & gas operator.   Ram also spent many years with Schlumberger, starting as a research scientist, and completed a series of assignments of increasing responsibility, culminating in his last position with Schlumberger as Vice-President of Research, managing Schlumberger global corporate research laboratories.    He graduated with a B.A and M.A. in Electrical Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK, a Ph. D. In Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, NY, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business, New York University, NY
