Uday Ved, Partner Tax & Regulatory,KNAV

Uday Ved is the Lead Partner in the Global Tax Practice Group at KNAV. He is based out of the Mumbai office. Uday has held key positions in the Big 4 firm, including National Head of Tax with KPMG India, Global Tax Partner of Anderson India, and Co-Head of Tax at RSM, India.

Uday’s expansive career spans over 30 years, during which he has worked extensively in M&A, inbound and outbound tax structuring, cross-border
transactions, and global reorganizations.He has been regularly nominated as a leading Tax Advisor by Euromoney in the last decade. He has co-authored a book, ‘General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR) – establishing substance over form’, published by Bloomsbury UK. He has interacted extensively with the Central Board of Direct Taxes and Regulatory bodies in India by making representations to them on international and domestic tax and regulatory issues.

Uday is an Advisor and on Board of Taxsutra, a leading India Tax Portal.Being a tax visionary, Uday is frequently invited by various News Channels to participate in debates and express his views on various tax issues.

Amitabh Khemka, Partner- Indirect Taxes, KNAV

Amitabh Khemka is Lead Partner, Global Indirect Taxes at KNAV. Amitabh has over 20 years of experience in the area of indirect tax including with KPMG India, Vodafone India, BMR Advisors, and Sthir Advisors. He is based out of the Mumbai office.

Among Amitabh’s core areas of expertise are tax-cost optimization, tax efficiency opportunities, transaction structuring and supply-chain mapping, risk mitigation, ‘standardization, automatic & implementation’ of tax processes, advocacy and litigation. He has assisted businesses implement GST with respect to tax, technology, trainings, and tools. He has assisted clients in evaluating indirect tax (VAT / GST / digital tax) implications in the arena of digital economy, especially evaluating classification of supply in different countries He has assisted clients for incentives offered by Central Government (including under Production Linked Incentive Schemes) and State Governments in India, for setting-up of manufacturing facilities, including in specific economic zone / industrial parks. He has led industry representations on indirect taxes (including GST) on behalf of industry forums before the Indian Government. He was member of the Working Group on GST – a sub-group of the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers in India.

He is a member of the National Taxation Committee of Confederation of Indian Industry, Indirect Taxation Committee of Assocham and Indirect Taxation Committee of IMC Chamber of Commerce. He has presented paper of ‘Digital economy – consumption taxes’ at Allinial Global’s Asia Pacific Committee of Practice on Taxation. KNAV is member firm of Allinial Global, an international association of independent accounting firms.

Rashmi Guptey,CFO and General Counsel- Lightbox India Advisors

Rashmi makes sure that Lightbox and our portfolio companies are legally compliant. As CFO and general counsel, her role includes finance and legal functions.

Awarded as one of India’s top 100 women in Finance in 2019, she’s passionate about the role of governance in building great companies and would love to help in shaping an appropriate policy framework that includes a start up view as new business models evolve. She loves working in the PE/VC industry since it gives her an opportunity to work with aspiring entrepreneurs and the chance to witness the zeal with which companies are built. She shares her views on policy regime changes from time to time through her blogs and articles.

Rashmi comes from a family that has been in the defence forces for 2 generations where she grew up in air force bases across the country. She loves reading, travelling, trekking in the Sahyadris, candle making, playing the guitar and trying to keep up with her two curious boys who are always looking for answers.


 Yagnesh Sanghrajka,Founder & CFO at 100X.VC

 Yagnesh Sanghrajka is a Chartered Accountant. He has had a long and successful career in the corporate world having led Finance, M&A, Strategy and Investor Relations for various organizations, large and medium sized, listed and unlisted.

 Yagnesh has worked for Hinduja Group (their IT/ ITES biz, now known as Hinduja Global Solutions - HGS), Entertainment World Developers P Ltd, part of the Atul Ruia led Phoenix Mills Group and MT Educare (brand name - Mahesh Tutorials), a listed education services player, now part of Essel Group. He has also worked as 'India Operating Partner’ for Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), a top ranked US based Global VC/PE firm.Yagnesh has been part of the key management team at all the above organizations, and has worked closely with Board of Directors as CFO. He has also been part of due diligence and valuation exercises both from acquirer and target companies’ perspective and hence possesses expert knowledge in these areas.

 Yagnesh currently is the Founder and CFO of 100X.VC, India’s first SEBI registered venture capital fund which uses iSAFE notes to fund startups. 100X.VC is promoted by Mehta Ventures, a family office owned by Ace Angel Investor Sanjay Mehta. 100X.VC has funded 70 companies till date. Yagnesh is part of the Investment Committee and also leads the Corporate Venture Capital practice for 100X.VC.
