The 2020 TiE Global CM Retreat will be held in Almaty, Kazhakhstan from July 2nd - 5th, 2020, and will be hosted by TiE London Board member Dinesh Dhamija. We invite all Charter Members of TiE to this splendid 4-day Event, which has now become an established traditional of TiE.

The Annual TiE Global CM Retreat facilitates business and social networking with the TiE CM network of 3,000 TiE charter members from around the globe. The CM Retreat is an exclusive Event, meant for TiE Charter Members and their families, where TiE CMs meet old friends, discuss the charter of TiE, and foster closer ties within the TiE CM community. There will be several activities planned for CMs and their families; including Networking mixers, Inspirational speaker sessions, Sightseeing tours and Formal Awards & Gala Night ceremony celebrating excellence at TiE Chapters around the world.

Almaty is one of the most beautiful cities in Kazakhstan, situated on the foothills of the Zailisky Alatau mountains. It is one of the largest cities in Central Asia, with a population of 1.5 million. Almaty served as the capital of Kazakhstan until 1998 and continues to be its largest trading and cultural hub.

Rixos Almaty Hotel is amongst the most luxurious and elegant five-star hotels in the region, a great venue for our group's stay and meetings. We selected July 4th summer holiday weekend - from July 2-5th, 2020, as the best time of the year for CMs to visit with their families.

At 3,500 feet, Almaty’s elevation offers excellent weather and natural beauty. It is believed this is where apples first originated on earth, with some 27 species in Almaty alone.This is also how Almaty was nicknamed "City of Apples"

The Rixos Almaty serves delicious international cuisine as well as central asian cuisine. With 24 hour service available at the Hotel's Lobby Bar, it will be a great place to meet other Retreat delegates or to enjoy a glass of wine with your friends.

Sights and activities will include visiting the Zenkov Catheral, (a cathedral building made completely out of wood, dating back to the tsarist era), Big Almaty Lake, Republic Square, the Presidential Gardens, cable car ride to Kok Tobe mountains, Green Bazaar shopping, and getting to know the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people.

Kazakhstan is located along the ancient Silk Route and Retreat attendees will experience the ethnically diverse republic with a unique culture mix on the border between Europe and Asia. Attendees can also visit nearby locations along the Silk Route, namely Shymkent, Tashkent, Samarkhand, Astana, Turkestan and Taraz, en route to the Retreat.
